Why monitor the prostate after age 50?

With age, the prostate – a gland of the male genital tract located below the bladder – can be the site of various pathologies, often benign, sometimes more serious. After the age of 50, regular check-ups are recommended to detect any abnormalities at an early stage, such as prostate adenoma (benign enlargement) or prostate cancer, one of the most common cancers in men.
